# Division 2 Crossplay: What Works Now and When the Matchmaking Pool Changes

**As of 15 October 2026, The Division 2 supports crossplay between supported PC platforms; PC-to-console crossplay is still scheduled for a gradual November rollout. Ubisoft plans to begin implementation and platform migration after Echoes of Central Park launches on 3 November, with full availability targeted for the launch of Season 4. Its checked announcement does not give an exact day for the shared PC-and-console pool.**

## The officially verified timetable

| Phase | Start date | Which platforms can match together? | What does each platform need? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Existing PC crossplay | Original start date: not stated by Ubisoft in the checked help article | Players on supported PC platforms can matchmake together; this statement does not include consoles. | PC: automatic and activated by default. Console access to this PC pool: not stated. |
| Gradual implementation and platform migration | November 2026, after the DLC's 3 November launch; individual migration dates are not stated in the checked official announcement. | Ubisoft describes a gradual rollout, without a platform-by-platform intermediate matching schedule in that announcement. | Separate PC, PlayStation and Xbox migration conditions: not stated by Ubisoft in the checked announcement. |
| Fully deployed crossplay | Target: available by the launch of Season 4. Exact calendar date: not stated in the checked official announcement. | Agents across supported platforms can play together when crossplay is enabled; disabling it restricts encounters to the player's own platform. | Players on each supported platform must have crossplay enabled to encounter one another across platforms. It will be enabled by default and can be disabled from Character Selection. Additional platform-specific conditions: not stated. |

The rollout window comes from Ubisoft's announcement dated **14 October 2026**. The enabled/disabled matching rules come from its **27 August 2026** announcement. The help article has **no visible publication or update date** in the version checked on 15 October.

## Why the help page and the announcement sound different

The help article says crossplay lets you matchmake with players on “any supported PC platform.” The October announcement describes the next step: Agents across platforms playing together once the rollout is fully deployed.

Those statements describe different scopes and stages. A PC player reading “crossplay is automatic” should not take it as confirmation that an Xbox friend can join today. The dated rollout announcement supplies the future schedule; the help article still describes PC crossplay and does not explain that transition.

Its missing update date matters. There is no basis for assigning it an older publication date, even though its wording stops short of the announced console rollout.

## Migration and your crossplay setting answer different questions

Ubisoft says all players will be migrated to the crossplay environment. It also says players can disable crossplay. The migration changes the environment your platform uses, while the setting controls whether you encounter Agents from other platforms.

After deployment, leaving crossplay enabled makes players on other supported platforms eligible to appear alongside you, provided they have enabled it too. Turning it off keeps your encounters on your own platform. The control belongs at Character Selection, so check that setting there when planning a mixed-platform session.

Clans make the distinction easier to see. They will also migrate, and capacity will increase from **50 to 100 members**. A clan moving into the shared environment and a player opting into cross-platform encounters are different parts of the change; one should not be used as shorthand for the other.

## Does crossplay mean my save moves too?

Playing together and transferring progress are separate questions. The help page also mentions cross-progression, but the checked text does not specify a console-to-PC save-transfer route. That short sentence cannot establish that an existing console character will become available on PC.

For joining friends, use the deployment stage and the crossplay setting. For moving a character, get an explicit statement covering the two platforms involved before treating the save as transferable.
