# WARDOGS classes: the official FAQ says roles are flexible, not locked

**WARDOGS does not use set classes, according to the developer's FAQ.** It says players buy equipment, vehicles and items to take the combat role that suits their playstyle — including building supplies, bandages, medkits and a larger backpack for a mixed role. The FAQ read on 26 October 2026 (UTC) does not give a published six-track list, XP rules, unlock rules or level caps. [Developer FAQ](https://steamcommunity.com/app/1867240/discussions/0/762932533852726673/), read 26 October 2026 (UTC).

## What choosing a role does — and does not — lock

The developer's exact answer to whether players will choose roles or classes is that the system does not take the form of set classes. It says players are free to purchase the equipment, vehicles and items they want for the role they want to play. That is direct evidence against a permanently locked assault, medic or support loadout. It is not evidence that every item is available immediately, that every combination is practical, or that any role has a published optimal build. [Official FAQ](https://steamcommunity.com/app/1867240/discussions/0/762932533852726673/), read 26 October 2026 (UTC).

The examples are deliberately ordinary: building items for building, bandages and medkits for a medic role, then a larger backpack for someone who wants to do both. The FAQ also says team-play roles will be the most profitable. It does not quantify that profitability or define the word “profitable,” so this page does not turn it into an XP rate, a cash rate or a recommended farm.

## Why searches for “WARDOGS classes” are easy to misread

On 26 October 2026 (UTC), ordinary Google results repeatedly described six progression tracks and named roles. Those results show that people are looking for a class answer. They do not make the snippets first-party documentation. The official FAQ visible today answers the different question of whether your role locks your gear; it does not state the six-track count, its names, level caps, XP triggers or unlock table.

The useful answer is therefore two-layered. The flexible loadout rule is confirmed by the developer. A detailed progression-track guide requires a separately readable official source. Until one is available, copying a list from a search result would blur a reported or community detail into an official rule.

## What Season 02 does not settle

WARDOGS' official October updates list new weapons, vehicles, buildables, balance work and server changes. They do not provide the missing class-progression rulebook in the material read for this page. For those dated update facts, see [WARDOGS gameplay](/wardogs-gameplay); they should not be used to infer which role unlocks an item or how quickly it levels.

## Claim boundary

| Layer | What this page can say |
| --- | --- |
| Confirmed officially | Roles do not come as set classes. Players can buy equipment, vehicles and items for their playstyle; the FAQ gives building, medic and mixed-backpack examples. |
| Observed, not official | Current ordinary search results repeatedly present six named progression tracks. This is a search-result pattern, not a developer confirmation. |
| Not confirmed | The number and names of tracks, XP triggers, level caps, unlock requirements, item-to-role mapping, best builds and progression speed. |

## Common questions

Does WARDOGS have fixed classes?

No fixed classes are described in the developer's FAQ. It says players can buy equipment, vehicles and items for the combat role that suits their playstyle. That confirms flexible role choice; it does not publish a full progression or unlock rulebook ([developer FAQ](https://steamcommunity.com/app/1867240/discussions/0/762932533852726673/), read 26 October 2026 UTC).

Can I play medic and builder in the same WARDOGS loadout?

The official FAQ gives exactly that kind of example: buy building items for building, bandages and medkits for medic play, or use a larger backpack to do both. It does not state an optimal loadout, cost or unlock threshold ([developer FAQ](https://steamcommunity.com/app/1867240/discussions/0/762932533852726673/), read 26 October 2026 UTC).

Are six WARDOGS progression tracks official?

Several search results describe six named tracks, but the official FAQ read for this page does not give a number, names, XP rules, level caps or unlock requirements. Treat those details as unconfirmed here until the developer publishes a source that states them.

Where can I check WARDOGS weapons and Season 02 changes?

Use [our WARDOGS gameplay page](/wardogs-gameplay) for the dated Season 02 weapons, vehicles, buildables and later backend update. Those updates do not settle the separate question of class progression rules.
